Pekiti-Tirsia Canada
Pekiti-Tirsia Canada represents a national community of martial artists, fighters, instructors, and leaders in the Filipino weapon combat system, Pekiti-Tirsia System of Kali (“PTK”) of Grand Tuhon Supremo Leo T. Gaje jr. The Canadian PTK community was founded in 1981 and is actively led by Mandala Tuhon Philip Gelinas of Montreal, Quebec.
Pekiti-Tirsia Canada is overseen by the Tuhon Council comprising all of the Canadians who have been granted tuhon (“leadership”) status by Grand Tuhon Leo Gaje.
Its membership are the recognized and certified instructors of PTK who are resident in Canada. The Board of Directors of PTK Canada are:
Pekiti-Tirsia System of Kali
Pekiti-Tirsia Kali is a Filipino fighting system that incorporates bladed, flexible and blunt-force weapons as well as firearms. It includes targeted training methods distinctly optimized for civilians, for law enforcement, and for military use. It has been translated to applications ranging from personal self-defense, to street-ready weapons-oriented martial arts, to constrained use-of-force for security and enforcement purposes, and to unconstrained tactical combat.
Grand Tuhon Supremo Leo T. Gaje jr.
Grand Tuhon Supremo Leo T. Gaje jr. is one of the greatest living grandmasters of the Filipino martial arts. He is widely known for his mastery of bladed weapons, particularly knife. Grand Tuhon serves as a Senior Advisor to the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Philippine National Police, training them in Close-Quarters-Combat utilizing the effective and sophisticated techniques of the Pekiti-Tirsia System of Kali.
